Jennifer Chan is General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer at Providence Health Care, where she leads the legal and privacy teams supporting St. Paul’s Hospital and Providence’s other health care operations. Her work currently includes supporting the development of the new St. Paul’s Hospital and navigating the legal, governance, and privacy questions that come with building the hospital of the future.

Jennifer began her career in private practice before shifting her focus to public service, including roles as counsel to commissions of inquiry and with the Law Society of BC. She currently serves as Vice Chair of TransLink and as a director of Encorp Pacific (Return-It) and previously chaired the Vancouver Public Library Board.

Jennifer holds degrees from Harvard (LL.M.), Oxford (M.Sc.), U. Victoria (LL.B) and UBC (B.Sc.) and is a graduate of the ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program (ICD.D).
