Ian Michael is a seasoned legal advisor to stakeholders in complex transactions.

Ian Michael's corporate law practice is focused on mergers and acquisitions and infrastructure investments involving private equity investments and public companies. He has worked extensively with international investors in connection with their Canadian investments and acquisitions. He works with boards of directors, senior executives and private equity investors in a range of industries including aviation, real estate, technology and automotive.

Ian has been repeatedly recommended by the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory in the areas of Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity and Corporate Finance and a key lawyer by The Legal 500 Canada in Transport – Aviation. In addition to his extensive mergers & acquisitions recognition, Ian's work with aviation infrastructure investments at most international airports in Canada and with the aviation industry in general has earned him a Chambers ranking in the area of Transportation – Aviation as well as recognition by Lexpert as a leading infrastructure lawyer in Canada.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ian has previously taught mergers & acquisitions sessions as part of securities law programs at Western University, Queen's University and at the Schulich School of Business. He is a director of the Canada China Business Council and a member of the Board of Governors of St. Andrew's College and Chair of its Governance Committee. When schedule and wind conditions permit, Ian can be found applying his former pilot skills to kiteboarding.
