Andrew Nunes is a Partner in Fasken’s Toronto office and serves as Co-Leader of the firm’s National Technology, Media and Telecommunications Group, Vice-Chair of the Business Law Department, and Ontario Leader of the Technology Law Group. His practice focuses on corporate and commercial matters with a strong emphasis on the technology sector and technology related matters. Andrew advises technology providers and users across industries including financial services, healthcare, real estate, manufacturing, retail, and the public sector. He regularly assists clients with the establishment, growth, and exit of technology-driven businesses, and complex commercial transactions relating to the development, protection and commercialization of technology products and services, including complex technology outsourcings, system acquisitions, critical systems implementations and XaaS arrangements. Andrew also advises on Canadian regulatory regimes and associated governance issues relating to data protection, cybersecurity, e-commerce, consumer protection, anti-spam, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies. He recently served as a member of the International Bar Association’s Presidential Task Force on AI and currently serves on the IBA LPD AI Working Group.
